Highway patrol: Driver dies in crash after striking bridge pillar on S.C. 22

One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the Conway area Wednesday morning, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported about 11:30 a.m. after a Ford Edge driving east on S.C. 22 ran off the right side of the road, striking a bridge pillar near S.C. 319, said Cpl. Sonny Collins with SCHP.

The driver was killed in the crash, and there were no other occupants in the vehicle, he said.
